HIKING ALONG LAKE HURON
The southern stretch of Algoma offers small-town
charm with shoreline adventures. In Blind River, the
Boom Camp Trails wind through old-growth forests
and wetlands, offering 12 km of hiking options. A
short drive east, the Thessalon Coastal Trail follows
the Lake Huron shoreline, offering endless panoramic
water views that never disappoint.
Foster Parkland and Walking Trails offer an easy loop
that begins in a wildflower field, leading to incredible
views. For a mix of history and exploration, the Bruce
Mines Historic Mine Trail takes you through remnants
of Ontario’s first copper mine. The Ojibway Park Trail
in Garden River First Nation rounds out this stretch,

Batchawana Bay Provincial Parks boast long
stretches of golden-sand beaches, while the Edmund

Lake Superior Provincial Park offers a wide range
of hiking trails for every skill level, each revealing a
different layer of the region’s untamed beauty.

with a sweeping view of the lake below. In Mississagi
Provincial Park, the Helenbar Trail winds through the
forest and over rocky ridges, offering a rewarding
