BLIND RIVER
Blind River is a stunning community located on
the world-renowned North Channel. It’s a unique
community with the benefit of the highway and waterway
gateways that lead to art, history, recreation, and a
year-round welcoming attitude! Home to a brand-new,
fully accessible lollipop trail designed and created in
partnership with Mississauga First Nation. Blind River’s
marine park, ice arena, visitor’s centre, community
beach, and downtown waterfront have been fully
rejuvenated. All people are welcome to wheel, cycle,
walk, boat, fish, and meditate. Maker’s Markets, monthly
local activities, art shows, exhibits, and weekly summer
concerts welcome tourists and locals to take pride in their
community.
Each fall, everyone is welcome to join the Blind River
Witches to face downtown. This amazing dance display,
market, and game area is so much fun. Following that
event, Timber Village Museum hosts its Twilight Trail
(geared to kids aged 1-7), where spooky decorations,
sweet treats, and a stroller-friendly route await!
Blind River’s Downtown is ready for you to grab
an ice cream cone, craft supplies, get your photos
taken, pick up local maple syrup, get your hair cut,
pick up a homestyle lunch, or fill a prescription (either
at the pharmacy or LCBO, we won’t judge!), buy a
flower bouquet, get a pedicure, buy a just-because

The Township of the North Shore comprises 698 square
kilometres, with three primary village areas of Serpent
River, Spragge, and Algoma Mills. It is situated along the
Highway 17 corridor, 143 km (89 mi) east of Sault Ste.
Marie, travelling from Algoma Mills and 115 km (72 mi)
west of Sudbury travelling to Spanish. Our small, friendly
communities are located on the North Channel of Lake
Huron and offer their visitors and residents a naturally
beautiful area. No matter what the season, the Township
of the North Shore has what you are looking for. With
our many lakes and rivers throughout a wilderness of
beauty, we offer endless photographic opportunities with
breathtaking views that you will remember for a lifetime.
